Citizens Advice Northumberland - Money Advice
Citizens Advice Northumberland has been assisting families and individuals with money worries for a number of years via their specialist Money Advice Team. Our Money Advice caseworkers can provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions, including help to deal with your money problems, how to avoid losing your home and how to get your finances back into shape.
Dealing with money issues can sometimes be daunting, and being in debt can be stressful; it can be difficult to know what to do first, especially if you’re getting letters and calls from the companies you owe money to. You might be thinking about borrowing more money to pay back people you owe, but this can make the problem worse and there might be a better solution for you – there’s no money issue that’s unsolvable. Becoming debt-free, however long it takes, can improve your credit rating and mean you can think about longer term plans.
Who can use this service?
The service is open to all members of the public and it is free of charge.
Please note we are unable to offer Budgeting support or general money management advice - this is a service for people requiring specialist advice on debt solutions.
We reserve the right to restrict our service to telephone/digital only if you fail to attend three appointments in any three month period.
How are services delivered?
We have limited in-person appointments in our offices at Blyth, Cramlington and Ashington but offer virtual appointments where clients are able to access video conferencing facilities in their own home or at some of our office locations.
Appointments are bookable following a needs assessment referred to as a ‘DAT’ or Debt Assessment.
