Halo Project

The Halo Project Charity is a national project that will support victims of honour-based violence, forced marriages and FGM by providing appropriate advice and support to victims. We will also work with key partners to provide required interventions and advice necessary for the protection and safety of victims, regardless of gender, religion, sexuality or age. Our first priority is keeping you safe.

We have a team of experienced case workers from various backgrounds and all with a vast range of knowledge and expertise who can support you. Our case workers understand the issues behind honour based violence, female genital mutilation and forced marriages and are on hand to offer support and advice on what options are available to you as well as advising you on any representation you may need. Our services are confidential and non-discriminatory. 

Halo can provide emergency support with: Obtaining a safe place to live; Understanding what welfare and benefit entitlement you may have; Gaining police protection; Gaining court ordered protection; Getting advice on the laws concerning forced marriages and other forms of abuse & Signposting you to other professionals who can help.

We also have experience in supporting victims of trafficking, sham marriages, hate crimes, domestic violence and modern slavery.

Who can use this service?

Anyone who is or could be a victim of forced marriage, suffering abuse in the name of honour, at risk of being involved in FGM.

In an emergency (including fear of being taken abroad) call the Police on 999.
