Horizons North East

Horizons North East (Community Interest Company) provide supported accommodation to a range of clients who are at the point of homelessness. Clients at Horizons are provided with safe, affordable accommodation and a level of support which enables them to maintain it. We welcome enquiries from professionals or clients themselves. Horizons receives referrals from a range of partner agencies; these include statutory services, such as housing, NHS, Adult Social Care etc as well as referrals from voluntary and third sector agencies.

We provide the following support for clients residing in Horizons Supported Accomodation

  • Budgeting
  • Reading, writing, communication skills and IT skills
  • Decision making and employment and education skills
  • Daily routines and medication
  • How to keep yourself safe
  • How to maintain and contribute to a shared household 
  • Household tasks - e.g. laundry, ironing and cleaning
  • How to safely prepare food, healthy eating, eating within a budget and personal hygiene 
  • Alcohol and drug misuse, and coping with a mental health condition that co-exists with this

Who can use this service?

Any adult facing housing crisis can be referred into Horizons. 

 

How are services delivered?

Each shared supported property is allocated a Support and Welfare advisor who will visit the property at least twice per week. 

Support is offered during office hours with an emergency duty line for Out of Hours emergencies.
