St Aidan's Monday Escape
S.A.M.E. provides friendship, comfortable surroundings, various creative activities and light refreshments. These activities provide an opportunity to experience a sense of community, belonging, and contribute to the wellbeing of those who attend, in outreach. We are a very versatile group, adaptable to the needs of those that attend with an unstructured approach. There are gifted volunteers who can offer time and expertise on activities such as sewing, knitting, art and craft. We also offer a quiet space for readers and plug points for those bringing communication devices.
We provide a facility for those who are struggling with their utility bills to enjoy a period of warmth and comfort. It provides the opportunity for new friendships, sharing and companionship, for those who no longer enjoy a social life. It will allow participants to feel accepted as members of the community with opportunities to make contributions to community wellbeing. We rely on the generous support of people to offer supplies - the limited resources available are expanding as the group grows.
