At YMCA Northumberland our vision is for all children and young people in Northumberland to feel safe, valued and able to thrive. We accomplish this by offering a diverse programme of opportunities, activities, and support systems tailored to the needs of children and young people.
Our free youth programme supports young people to express themselves, build safe and trusting relationships, and increase their confidence through activities, games, and discussion. As well as offering themed sessions each evening of the week, we give young people the space to relax and make use of our resources including console games, board games, a pool table, a retro arcade machine, arts and crafts supplies and more.
Our experienced team adopt a friendly, fun and empathetic approach, offering information and guidance on various topics relevant to young people including, but not limited to, healthy friendships and relationships, education and work, sexual health, and drug and alcohol safety.
We are a youth-led service and we tailor our support to the young people who attend, to help them feel informed and empowered when navigating the many challenges and opportunities of the modern world. Our youth workers are always on hand for a one-to-one chat and can provide C-cards and signpost to other services when required.

Who can use this service?
How are services delivered?
Our sessions are free to any young person living in Northumberland. We currently run a range of different sessions across the week aimed at ages 10-25.
At present all of our youth sessions are delivered face-to-face in our YMCA Northumberland premises in Ashington.
