Changing Lives: Exploitation, Sex Work and Modern Slavery Services
Our North East-based service provides specialist, trauma-informed support to individuals affected by sexual exploitation, modern slavery, and online sexual harm. This include: 1-to-1 support, weekly drop-in groups, sexual health, a personal development programme and much more. We also provide support to local independent sex workers engaging in both online and ‘offline’ sex work.

Operating across the Northumbria, Durham, and Darlington areas, we offer long-term, tailored support to people aged 16 and over, including those at risk or with lived experience of exploitation. Our work is grounded in years of expertise and aims to reduce risk, minimise harm, and empower individuals on their journey toward safety and stability. We offer:
- Consistent 1-to-1 support
- Safety Planning
- Weekly women’s drop-ins and groups
- Prison in-reach and community integration
- Supporting access and engagement with services to meet immediate needs, such as housing, mental health and recovery services.
- Sexual Health, STI Screening and Contraception
- 12 week Personal Development Programme exploring areas such as Online Safety, Healthy Relationships, Managing Finances and Preparing for Employment.
- Community Integration: education, training and employment including opportunities for volunteering
- A specialist ISVA
- Explore exit routes out of sex work if desired.

Who can use this service?
You are eligible if you are aged 16 and over and living in Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland, South Tyneside or Durham.
How are services delivered?
